Wow, this is a tough question. My first thoughts went to my favorites when I was young girl. Nancy Drew was one. I liked that she was strong and had a fun life. I wanted to be like her. I also liked Laura Ingalls Wilder, just the life that she lived was so different from mine. As an adult Dr. Kay Scapetta; I like that she is strong-willed woman. She fights for what she believes in. I enjoy the story lines and what happens to her on her many adventures. Plus I an fascinated by forensics. I have not read the whole series yet. I have read up to Points of Origin. I have heard that her later books are not as good. Alison Carver from the Taliswoman series by Carole Nelson Douglas. She travels to a parallel world and has to handle unknown situations. Again she is a strong woman who does not need a man to take care of her.
